A baby matures into an adult on its own but any hindrance on its path requires the expertise of a specialist. Development of a child proceeds at a very fast pace during babyhood days. Hence it is all the more necessary to be careful about any problem(s) that a child faces during his/her development. Any delay in a child’s development should be brought to the notice of a Developmental Paediatrician. Autism, ADHD, Down’s Syndrome, Dyslexia are a few of the common disabilities prevalent in children.

As regards Autism, Dr.Bhattacharya is probably the only Developmental Paediatrician in India who is equipped to use Gold Standard Diagnostic Tools for Autism with Griffiths tool and other diagnostic assessment tools like Bayley Scales of Infant Development (BSID-III) , ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), ADI-R ( Autism Diagnostic Interview) to assess through Gold Standard techniques the mental development of autistic children. He also has expertise in leading multidisciplinary assessment and management of children with complex disabilities including Autism, ADHD, Down’s Syndrome etc.
